Grooms: How To Go From Being Clueless To Confident
Posted on 29 August1
Hello and welcome to the first of several blog tracks we will feature on Everything Weddings! This is the Clueless Groom – an on-running guide for you, the man (or woman, let’s be fair) who has done what you thought was the hard part: you’ve proposed. You learned about rings, you planned it all out, and you made your partner extremely happy. Congratulations!
Now the real work begins.
Like Vin Diesel walking onto his first movie set, you just got a job you have no idea how to do (seriously, this is rough). But unlike him, you’re not going to crash and burn (see what I did there?), because we’re here to help!
Remember back when you decided to propose? How you thought you knew about rings, because you’ve seen them on everyone else’s hands? And then you decided to take the plunge and found out how much you really didn’t know? Well the next year (couple of months? four weeks of running around like mad?) will have a lot of those moments for you. But don’t worry; we’ve got you! We’re going to teach you everything you need to know to wipe that blank stare off your face.
Now, when your fiancée says she really prefers photojournalism over illustrative photography, you don’t just have to nod and smile.
Look confident! Because you will be.
I know, because I’ve been engaged for about a year now. If I can do this – and I plan worse than Stannis trying to take back Winterfell, you certainly can.
So learn from my mistakes, and strap in, because it’s going to be a fun ride!
